After serving a tour in Ramstein, Germany through the U.S. Air Force, John Beach personally experienced the importance of having a church family to help a person grow spiritually. In 1976, he returned with his wife, Elva, and planted High Point Baptist Church in Ulm, Germany. The name was inspired by the church that supported and sent them—High Point Baptist Chapel in Geigertown, PA.
After the Army base in Ulm closed, God led Pastor John and Elva to replant High Point in Vilseck in 1993.
First, the church met in Amberg, and then they moved into a storefront building in Schlicht. In 2004, the Beach’s son Duane and his wife, Daylin, came to work in the ministry. In May of 2005, the church moved to its third location, Vilseck, and the following month is when Duane Beach became the lead pastor with Pastor John continuing to serve as Missions Pastor.
Now, High Point has been serving God and the Vilseck/Graf communities for over 30 years, and during that time, God moved it to its fourth location in the industry park of Vilseck.
