WHAT TO EXPECT

Looking for a new church can be a difficult and sometimes even daunting process. We hope to make your search for a new church easier by providing some basic information about High Point below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone. Our contact information can be found here.

  • What to Expect

    Sunday Attire

Come as you are! Feel free to wear formal or informal attire. Our church body is composed of people from many different church backgrounds, so you will see everything from suit coats to T-shirts and dresses to jeans. Dress however you feel most comfortable to come to church.

    Worship Music

We worship with both traditional hymns and modern worship music, and we are led by a praise team. If you are not familiar with some or even any of the songs, don't worry! The lyrics are always on a big screen at the front.

    Sermon Style

The sermons at High Point are designed to help us understand God's Word and apply it to our daily lives. They are a blend of topical and exegetical approaches, and sermons usually range from 35 to 45 minutes. Check out our YouTube Channel for a collection of previously recorded sermons that will give you a full picture of the sermon style at High Point.

  • Childcare

We provide childcare through our nursery for babies (0-2 years) and an engaging class for children (3-7 years) during every Sunday morning service. An elementary class is also offered approximately once per month. Follow our Facebook page to find out when the next elementary class will occur.

  • Live Online Service

The Sunday sermon is always streamed live starting at 10:30 a.m. here on YouTube. This is a great way to check out High Point for the first time—from the comfort of your home. Providing this service is also important to us so that church members who are traveling, sick, or otherwise unable to attend in person can still watch online.

Previously recorded sermons can be watched on our YouTube Channel.

  • Our Beliefs and Values

It is always important to know what a church believes before attending. Click here for a list of our foundational beliefs.

  • Our Leadership

High Point has a lead pastor and four deacons. Pastor John Beach planted the church and he and his wife, Mrs. Elva, serve as "Pastor Emeritus". Pastor Duane Beach is lead pastor and teaches on Sundays out of God's Word. Daylin Beach leads children's and women's ministries, and she and Rick Britton direct our music ministry. Our deacons and their wives are "servants" of the church (the Greek word for deacon literally means servant) by helping meet needs and ensuring ministries run smoothly. Visit the page about our leadership here.
